Privacy policy

Simple Forager helps families plan meals and build grocery lists. This page explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with. The short version: we use your information to run the app, we don't sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

What we collect

• Your email address, to sign you in with a link. There are no passwords.
• Your household settings, such as how many people you cook for, allergies, foods you dislike, a grocery budget, and, if you turn them on, nutrition goals.
• What you add: meal plans, grocery lists, pantry items, your own recipes, and feedback you send us.
• Photos you choose to upload, such as a cookbook page, a pantry shelf, or a meal, so the app can read them. Meal photos are saved to your account so you can see them later; cookbook and pantry photos are read and not kept.
• Store connections: if you connect a Kroger account, we store the access token Kroger gives us (encrypted) and the store you pick. We never see your Kroger password.

How we use it

Only to run the app: planning your meals, building and pricing your grocery list, sending it to your store when you ask, and improving Simple Forager. Your own recipes are private to your account and are never shown to other people.

Who we share it with

We use a few service providers to run the app. Each only gets what it needs:

• Supabase - sign-in and our database.
• Vercel - hosting the website.
• Resend - sending sign-in emails.
• Anthropic - an AI service that reads the photos you upload and helps with recipes. It does not use your data to train its models.
• Grocery stores (such as Kroger) - when you send a list to a store, the items go to that store. Once you're on their site, their privacy policy applies.

We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads.

Store links and commissions

Some links to grocery stores are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The store may use cookies to track that the purchase came from Simple Forager.

Cookies

We use a cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Simple Forager is meant for adults 18 and older. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days.

Your choices

You can change your settings or disconnect a store at any time in the app. To get a copy of your data or have your account deleted, email info@simpleforager.com.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and we'll tell you in the app if the change is significant.
